The System & IVVQ CAM is a leadership role with accountability for leading the Thales System Engineering team on a substantial programme to ensure delivery of the system requirements, the system architecture and design and the IVVQ activities on time and within budget.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Producing a System Engineering Management Plan and an IVVQ Management Plan, to define in detail the execution, monitoring and control approach to the programme and leading the system engineering team to execute the plan.
  • Provision of strong technical and programmatic leadership to ensure the system is defined and matured such that it will satisfy the user needs and requirements and achieve acceptance, accreditation and certification
  • Pro-active Project and technical risk and opportunity management.
  • Implementing an objective and predictive monitoring regime to enable early identification of issues and risks, and definition of recovery actions to ensure on time acceptable delivery is achieved.
  • Ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe manner and that both equipment and personnel safety aspects are properly addressed throughout the Project in line with Legal and Company requirements.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Project team, functions, suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure the Project Team successfully delivers against commitments to the internal and external customers.
  • Delivering system engineering work packages to cost and schedule

What are we looking for?

  • Proven capability as a System Engineering leader, able to drive the establishment of a proactive and dynamic team culture where all team members are encouraged and supported to operate to their full capability. 
  • Proven capability for complex systems development working across the whole product lifecycle.
  • A sound understanding of System Engineering principles
  • Strong interpersonal soft skills and excellent communication
  • Commercially knowledgeable and astute.
  • Focus on Customers
  • Experience within naval Combat Management System and EW sensor development, integration and verification. (Desirable)
  • BEng with honours in an Engineering Discipline (or equivalent experience)

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
