Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Ship Manager, this technical position will see you play a hands on role in project managing the maintenance of the ACPB patrol boats. Your main responsibility in this role will be to oversee the day to day maintenance and execution of ship repair and ship maintenance activities ensure that all servicing, repairs and upgrades are completed to meet customer expectations and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all maintenance execution activities for designated maintenance periods, to ensure material readiness objectives for the Platforms are being achieved
  • In collaboration with the Senior Ship manager and Asset Maintenance Manager, preparing regular reports as required by the contract
  • Responsible for the  conducting of all required maintenance activities prior to the commencement of maintenance execution
  • Supervising the Thales personnel and Subcontractors to achieve the agreed outcomes within the delegated authorities and responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a close relationship with project managers, Navy and project teams to ensure understanding of quality management objectives and expectations

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business or Project Management is highly regarded
  • Experience working in a ship building/repair or similar heavy engineering industry
  • Strong technical background with significant project management experience in the delivery of complex/large scale projects
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organisation and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to influence others in the achievement of desired business outcomes
  • You will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to resolve highly complex problems
  • Previous success in the delivery of complex/large-scale Defence industry projects will be viewed favourably.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP is essential and Primavera experience is highly desirable
