Thales UK have a fantastic opportunity and are looking to recruit an Integration Repair and Test (IRT) Technician, working as part dedicated to ADAPT contract within Land and Air Systems (LAS) based at Thorney Island. This is a dynamic role combining a variety of duties covering fault diagnosis, repair, testing, assembly and maintenance of military equipment primarily located at Thorney Island and occasionally at other customer sites.

Key responsibilities and Tasks:

Performing an integral role, you will be working within a team environment and will be responsible for achieving equipment availability on a daily basis in accordance with the master schedule. Duties will involve full turnkey service to the equipment, including tasks such as electro-mechanical fault diagnosis, repair, testing, overhaul, integration, assembly and maintenance. You will also be required to record service data and prepare equipment status reports.

Our operations at Thorney Island is a stand-alone facility located within a customer environment; it is a customer facing “one stop shop” facility equipped with the necessary infrastructure, resource and equipment to deliver the requirements of availability based contracting.

The focus of the job is to achieve specific daily objectives to ensure that the full range equipment is serviceable to the required availability and readiness levels on a daily basis to meet customer needs. Subsequently, you will work in a challenging and varied environment with time sensitive deadlines.

Role requirements:

You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment so organisational skills and ability to use own initiative and discretion to diagnose and solve problems will be key. Listed below are some of the key attributes we are looking for:

  • HNC Level or recognised equivalent in an engineering discipline would be desirable
  • Experience working in a maintenance, production or customer service environment working on military equipment
  • Ability to work and engage with teams
  • Ability to work to pressured timescales
  • Computer literate with the ability to us MS office
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Flexible for UK and limited international travel

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
