Sesto Fiorentino is the Headquarter of Thales Italia. It hosts two Domains: Ground Transportation Systems (GTS) and Security (SIX). The activity of GTS domain: Security systems, telecommunications, supervision, control & management information and signalling solutions for trains, trams and metros Regarding railway solutions, Thales is the homologated supplier of Rete Ferroviaria Italiana for Axel Counters, Tunnel Security, Energy Saving, SCADA systems and Asset Management. Italy is Thales Group’s competence centre for tramway signalling solutions. The activity of SIX domain: mission critical solutions and applications for assets and citizens security (supervision, control and information management systems) as well as cybersecurity. Thales offers solutions to protect the information systems and critical data of its civilian and military customers and helps its customers to detect and prevent cyberattacks by devising secure architectures from the design stage, overseeing these architectures and ensures that they are kept in secure working order. Italy is Thales Group’s competence centre for Airport security and operations management solutions.

Thales Ground Transportation System, based in Florence, Competence Centre of Thales for LRT signaling solution and responsible in selected markets for Communications, Security & Control is looking for an Export Sales Manager

The Export Sales Manager works closely with the Marketing & Sales Export Manager to develop, within the area of responsibility, the sales of Thales Solutions and to support Sales and Local entity in this process in order to assure the aimed Order Intakes with the associated Gross Margin.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Export Sales Manager your key responsibilities will include:
• Identify and grow opportunities within the area of responsibility supporting front line Sales and Local entity.
• Manages selected opportunities
• Manage customer relations in own area of activity with the aim of increasing order intake (OI) in the short to medium term.
• Assure the OI aimed to be booked within the year end
• Sales Operations and Support – Forecasting, analysing, reporting and coordinating bids and reviews
• Participating and facilitating business winning reviews
• Support marketing activities participating to trade shows, seminar & conferences

Mandatory Experience

Applications with evidence of minimum 5 years in the following sectors will be considered:

• Railway business (Rolling stock, signalling, telecom, power, infrastructure)   

• Telecommunication business related to infrastructure

• EPC civil works in transport infrastructure.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• High communication skills

• Capable of performing through teaming
• High Knowledge of business on contract practice at international level
• Teamwork - Connected to the business, communicates openly, shares information and knowledge
• High capacity of networking, both internally than externally, persuades rather than pushes
• Minimum 5 years of experience at international level in complex business
• Coming from a multicultural entity is a must
• Graduate at Economic or Eng. University
• Fluent in English both oral than written a second language is a must (possibly French).
