Head of Services Engineering

The Head of Services Engineering will report directly to the Thales Italy Engineering Director.

The Service Engineering axis represents and inherits the function mission in Service Engineering Capabilities for Customer Solution Projects.

In the framework of a given Bid or Project, Service Engineering covers the Design, the commissioning and the whole Life Cycle, taking into account the needs specified or anticipated, the constraints related to the operational context, the relevant Product policy and Service strategy.

Services Engineering will cover 2 main pillar:

  • Design for Maintenance/Services 

This pillar is containing all the activities related the Design Requirement coming from Services, in order to increase the Maintenability and maximise the Availability for our Customers for the whole life of the System after the end of the warranty Period.

  • Services and Maintenance

This pillar is covering all the activities related the maintenance, trouble shooting, design authority and upgrades on the Thales installed base.

The Head of Services Engineering will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Create a clear view about the Services Opportunities for the Market managed by Thales Italy (both Domestic and Export)
  • Create a Structure that will cover the business needs and sustainable for the Market size
  • Create a Strategy to Maximise the Services Opportunities assuring the Servcies mindset since the first Design phases
  • Customer Documentation
  • Customer Training
  • Design for Maintenance/Services
  • Manage obsolescence
  • Provide consultancy or technical assistance
  • Manage and monitor upgrades proposals on our systems based on:
    • Obsolescence needs
    • Standards evolution
    • Contractual requirements
  • Interface with the BL Product Line to align the Services Strategy with the ones for the BL

The skills/experiences needed to cover the role are the followings:

  • Good knowledge about the Market and its Services potentialities
  • Good commercial skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good knowledge of the Thales Product and the Installed base
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Previous Services experience in High Technologies field (Network or Rail are preferred)
  • English knowledge is a must
  • International experience in management Services Engineering Technology is desiderable
