Since providing services for Airport Operations, Air Traffic Management equipment and solutions, and Software Development for civil and military aviation, EDISOFT offers advanced software solutions and highly qualified IT consulting services for the Aeronautic Industry. As a result, EDISOFT has a broad experience and has built a solid reputation in Airport Operations and Air Traffic Management Systems.

We have an excellent opportunity to join as a Networks & Infrastructure Engineer within Edisoft our Aerospace and Defence organisation, where we will be developing the next generation of Air Traffic Management technology in Lisbon.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Administration Linux
  • Deployment of operating systems on server / workstation / virtual machines on Linux, VMware and Windows
  • Customization of operating systems in order to match security requirements, security needs, optimization for software needs
  • Test and validate new OS relating to new servers and workstations models
  • Backup and restore servers, workstations and virtual machines
  • Update firmware’s on the equipment’s (network, servers)
  • Create documentation describing in details the system integration, using the best practices of cabling

Required skills:

  • Experience in hardware server architecture
  • Experience in operating systems: Linux (RedHat, CentOS) / Windows (architecture, scripting, administration)
  • Experience in Virtualization (VMware concepts; installation; administration; scripting)
  • Knowledge of programming languages: basis of C language; knowledge of Shell and Perl languages
  • Knowledge of network (routing, switching & firewalling; layers; most common protocols used in switching and routing in order to provide redundancy ; interconnection of networks; WAN; LAN; security basis; all this limited to Ethernet domain)
  • Able/ willing to follow the hardware evolution of the market

  • Ability to work and communicate in an international and multicultural environment
  • High aptitude for learning and a high degree of self-motivation
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical capabilities
  • Fluent in English (French is also highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of Cisco hardware
