DSP Design Solutions Engineer

Job Description
Our Radar, Secure & Processing design team in Rome is looking for a DSP Design Solutions Engineer to join them and take responsibility for the DSP design and validation activities of various digital equipments for space applications.
Key duties:
You will be part of a team including digital design engineers. Your duties will include:
- Participation to bids with understanding and discussion of requirements, trade off and fast evaluation of different possible solutions; finalization of pre-design to allow the team to make the quotation. Support to Risk analysis and evaluation.
- Definition and follow-on of digital units development and validation plans.
- Design and simulation of digital signal processing algorithms for RADAR and microwave payloads, processing units.
- Design of digital units and modules
- Support to integration and validation activities ofthe developed solutions.
- Definition and production of documentation according to internal QMS rules and ECSS applicable standards.
- Interfacing the customer and suppliers and collaboration with other Thales Alenia Space departments including project leaders, product lines, industrial engineering, manufacturing and marketing & sales.
Skills, experience and qualifications required:
- Laurea Magistrale or Master degree in Electronics Engineering
- Large work experience (>10 years) in digital HW design and design team coordination
- Proficient in operating the simulation and modeling equipment including the designing tools
- Well acquainted with the basic characteristics of the digital designing instruments
- Sounding knowledge of space applications oriented digital circuits and solutions
- Knowledge of the different FPGA families and SoC used for space applications and the relevant development platforms such as Microsemi, Xilinx, Altera, etc.
- Knowledge of high speed DSP and I/O and integrated CPU
- have the capability to work in a dynamic work atmosphere where he needs to be cooperative with the other associates of the team
- Able to manage multiple tasks at one time
- Attitude to problem solving and to achieve results within time and cost constraints
- Good knowledge of English in writing and speaking
