The primary purpose of the Systems / Software Engineer role is to prepare the requirement specifications and service / data models of the Open ATM system in line with customer requirements and contribute to the design, development and testing of software components of the overall Open ATM solution. He/ she will be working in an AGILE team and building world leading technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform the whole lifecycle of systems engineering (from requirements management to requirements validation) on all aspects of the Open ATM platform.
  • Produce the service definitions, including the service behavioural definition and service payload data models.
  • Produce requirements documentation and contribute to service design documentation using Thales standards
  • Evolve and maintain Project baseline documents as required.
  • To prepare requirements and design, code and test software components assigned by the team leader
  • Work in an agile, cross-functional team, actively engaging to support the success of the team
  • Delivery of high quality code and best practice code.
  • To contribute to solving complex technical problems

Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience producing specifications for, and modelling of, web services (and associated public APIs) using dynamic behavioural and data modelling tools
  • Advanced user of MS Office tools
  • Demonstrable Experience of predominately software based systems engineering including:
    • requirements management
    • security management
    • maintenance of baseline documentation
    • compliance with national and international standards
  • Experience working in a highly complex system of systems engineering environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CORE JAVA , Java 8
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS and IaaS) and how to use them as part of a solution.
  • Good knowledge of cloud-native applications
  • Strong understanding of common integration patterns (i.e. Broadcast, Publish-Subscribe, Request-Reply, etc.)
  • Previous experience with automated SW testing and exposure to tool chains for CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of real time software development and safety critical systems is advantageous
  • Knowledge of other languages (e.g. C, C++, ADA) is advantageous
  • Possess learning agility
  • Mature stakeholder and business engagement skills
  • Hands-on software design and development experience
