About Our Site

Garden Island is the headquarters for our Maritime business along with being a major fleet base for the Royal Australian Navy. This unique waterside located in Sydney’s inner eastern suburbs is easily accessible by public transport, with onsite parking and canteens this is an exciting place to work that is steeped in history. Our Garden Island team provide repair, maintenance and in-service support for a variety of commercial and Naval platforms. With much of the work being conducted in the Southern Hemisphere’s largest dry dock, Thales are also contracted to provide docking, reticulated services and facility maintenance across the site.

About the opportunity

Newly created opportunity for a Project Manager with bids experience to join our Maritime business and provide an innovative approach to proposals whilst ensuring compliance with customer requirements and highlighting company value proposition

What you will be doing

In this role you will:

  • Undertake and support bid management activities for related tenders.
  • Transition to managing the project upon project reward
  • Manage project staff and co-ordinate the duties of the various delivery teams, subcontractors and suppliers for to meet timelines
  • Conduct project reviews and monitor progress of project expenditure and ensure that all financial targets are achieved.
  • Work with the Contracts & Commercial Team to ensure alignment of all commercial aspects

About you

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following:

  • Experience in bids and project management
  • Experience in maritime and/or defence projects
  • Project budget, resource and schedule estimation and management.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills
