Today, Thales Thailand employs 45 people, and has numerous programmes and achievements to its name in both the civil and defence sectors. The Group is a long-term strategic supplier of defence systems for the Royal Thai Army and Navy. In aerospace, Thales plays a key strategic role, delivering country-wide solutions to Thai customers in the area of air traffic management, radars and navigation aids. Thales is supplying ground transportation solutions to the main and urban rail lines in the area of signalling and fare collection.

Main responsibility:

Secure Thales business in the ground transportation domain in Thailand.

General:

The BD Manager Transportation is required to identify business opportunities in line with Thales product offerings and system engineering capability, construct capture strategies together with the Regional HQ, Thales Business Units and local Key Industrial Partners (KIP) and drive the joint execution of these strategies to win the business.

Measure of Success:

The BD Manager will be required to deliver target revenue each year according to the business forecasting tool GCRM and maintain the GCRM inputs up to date enabling proper resource planning and business forecast at all times.

Professional Expectations:

The BD Manager is expected to have a good understanding of the transportation market, with knowledge of the local players (governmental organizations, private developers, local industry), and an in-depth view of all projects relevant to Thales. He / She should be capable of recommending which solution from Thales has the highest chance of winning or take the solution Thales wants to sell and position it, in close cooperation with the relevant KIP with the relevant stakeholder community in a way which gives Thales the highest chance of success.

It is essential that the BD manager is capable of creating a close working relationship with the KIPs relevant in the domain and ensures that the relationship is strong at all times with a joint winning mentality. Equally essential is that the BD Manager is capable of establishing a strong and respectful relationship with the Thales business units in the various countries of origin.

Reporting line:

The BD Manager will report and works closely with KAM Transportation and also report to the Country Director in Thailand.

Travel activity of approximately 30 days per year is expected.
